Arsenal beat Chelsea for the first time since November 2008 – ending a 5 game losing streak to their London rivals with an emphatic 3-0 victory at the Emirates. It was an important match for both sides, with the still undefeated Manchester United putting heavy pressure for all would-be championship contenders atop the table.
It was a hard fought first half, with the home side doing most of the play-making in early goings. They were rewarded at the stroke of half time with a goal from Song. Arsenal came out in the second half the same way they had in the first and as usual were not content with any sort of lead as they kept pressing forward. Arsenal skipper Fabregas showed once again how invaluable he is to the club and was rewarded with his stellar play in the 51st minute.

Being down 2-0, Chelsea felt the sense of urgency and committed more men up the field. Arsenal took total control of the match in the 53rd minute with Theo Walcott, who had been having a sensational season prior to his injury several months ago.
Chelsea never gave up, with a goal 4 minutes later with Ivanovic. Chelsea couldn’t get any closer despite their best attempts and the Arsenal fans started singing chants of “You’ll be sacked in the morning” – referring to Chelsea boss Ancelotti who has been on a horrendous run as of late, totally falling out of the championship race despite a flawless start in the early weeks.
Arsenal’s dominant victory over the Blues signified that the young Gunners had become grown men, as Arson Wenger liked to put it. Chelsea on the other hand need to quickly figure out how to get back to the form that saw them dominate the league for over a year.
