The Eagles and the Giants met on Sunday Night with the top position in the NFC East up for grabs and a playoff spot on the line. When the two teams had met earlier in the season, the Eagles had managed to grab a narrow win – but the New York Giants had largely contained Michael Vick in a way that few other teams had done all season.
The Giants, playing this game in the Meadowlands, started the game off strongly quickly forcing Michael Vick to commit one of his few interceptions this season. Their zero blitz and passing game led them to completely dominate the game and the Giants were up 21 points with 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
That’s when Michael Vick stepped up and showed everyone why he’s very much worthy of being an MVP candidate. Vick took command of his team and executed to perfection. He rushed for huge gains and eventually ran one into the endline. He passed it efficiently and found his teammates despite having limited time in the pocket.

In the end though, it was DeSean Jackson though who became the hero, with a game winning punt return as clock expired – the first that it has ever happened in the history of the NFL.
The New York Giants left the field shell shocked – what looked like a comfortable victory quickly turned into the worst defeat of their history – even surpassing the originial ‘Miracle at Meadowlands’ many years ago.
Now the Philadelphia Eagles are in leading position to clinch their division, receive a bye, and get home court advantage. The Giants on the other hand will be facing the Green Bay Packers with their season on the line. What a difference a few plays can make.
