WWE Raw starts 2011 on a high

The first WWE Raw of the year took place this Monday, and it surprised many people with all the action taking place, even with the face of the company John Cena missing.

The first match of the night was for the first time, a championship match. Former tag team partners The Miz and Morrison battled it out in an counts count anywhere match and the Miz reigned supreme and retained his title.

CM Punk and Wade Barrett had a fight over the top position in the Nexus. CM Punk ended up ousting Barrett by making him lose in the triple threat cage match.

Randy Orton won that match, which will make him the number 1 contender heading into Royal Rumble.

Other interesting bits of news came from the Raw General Manager announcing that John Cena might possibly return to Raw next week following his injury.

It’s all looking interesting in the WWE right now as both new stars are being developed while established names are performing at the top of their game. For further thoughts, check out this WWE Raw post.
