WWE’s awards show was last night as the 2010′s most deserving wrestlers were awards with Slammys. The WWE Slammy Awards 2010 started out with leader Wade Barret collecting the award for the most shocking moment of the year. Then it was followed up CM Punk winning the Despicable Me award.
One of the biggest revelations of the night was John Cena being let back in to the WWE. The two conditions that were set forth by Wade Barret was 1) having a match with him at the upcoming TLC pay per view and 2) fighting Otunga later on the night. It didn’t take long for Cena to agree to both conditions – which sounded too good to be true. In old school fashion, Nexus proceeded to kick the life out of John Cena. In essence, the months of storyline between Nexus and Barrett were reset back to square one.

Edge won the Meltdown moment of the year and the ‘demon’ girl from the Miz championship moment won the ‘Reaction of the Year’ – which Miz ended up stealing from her. Michael Cole won the “Best Quote” award despite having the worst quote and being the presenter. The WWE ‘Moment of the Year’ went to HBK for his retirement match against The Undertaker. He wasn’t in the building and said he didn’t miss being in the WWE – so a return looks unlikely, but perhaps a future appearance is in the books as he promised his fans that they would see him again ‘down the line, in the near future’.
Other highlights included Shamus and Morrison’s TLC match being declared a ‘number 1 contender match’ while Alex Riley and David Arquette having a handicap match against Randy Orton.
The Divas battle royal ended with Michele McCool winning but her happiness soon turned into dismay as the GM decided on the first ever Divas tables match with Laycool facing Glamazon and the Hart Foundation’s Natalya.
The WWE Slammy Awards 2010 ended with the 2010 Superstar of the year being awarded to John Cena.
